Encourage students to keep reaching for Legend status!

During March Math Mania, prizes are awarded to the top three schools, based on the highest average points per student. But you don’t have to stop there when it comes to rewarding participation. Recognize individual students (or whole classes!) for their hard work and dedication with our March Math Mania certificates included in the Launch Kit.

Encourage students to strive for more in Mathletics and keep working towards that Legend status by creating your own awards system to use during the competition or any day! We love seeing how creative our community of schools can be! Some of our favourites have included “Principal for a Day”, a special field trip for the top class and even a year-round “Wall of Fame” like this one from College Heights Christian School!

FAQ

Who can participate?
This competition is open to all teachers at a school with an active Mathletics subscription.

How is the winner determined?
Winners will be determined by the highest average of total participation points in a school. This will be calculated by taking the total number of student participation points (Live Mathletics, Curriculum Activities, and Skill Quests) divided by the total number of active students in the school. To allow fair competition between schools of different sizes, class points are calculated on an “average points per student” basis.

When does the competition start and finish?
Points from Live Mathletics, Curriculum Activities and Skill Quests will be awarded to students individually and are only recorded throughout the competition period listed below:

Monday March 10th – Competition opens

Friday March 28th – Last day to earn points

Earning points in Live Mathletics
Students earn 1 point per correct answer, or 2 points if they have selected their bonus level.

Earning points in Mathletics Curriculum Activities
By completing activities in the ‘Explore’ area, students earn 10 points per correct answer, with a maximum of 300 points from any individual activity during the competition period.

When will the winners be announced?
Once the competition has ended, all results will be verified by the Mathletics team. The winners will be announced via email the week of March 31st, 2025. All results as determined by the Mathletics team are final.

Do I need to register?
No need for registration! With an active Mathletics subscription, your class is automatically entered March Math Mania.

How can I see where my class is ranking throughout the competition?
We will email you a weekly update showing the school rankings and at the end of the competition we will provide the final Top 100 leaderboard.
