The new Mathletics student console is packed with features designed to motivate, engage, and celebrate students' efforts and progress. Let’s look at the areas where students can reflect on their achievements to celebrate all they’ve done!

Points

  1. Students earn points when they complete Activities, Quests and Live Mathletics.
  2. To find out how points are earned, simply click on the information symbol (i) next to the Weekly Points.
    1. Activities: 1 correct answer = 10 points
    2. Skill Quests: 1 correct answer =10 points and completing a step or earning a merit = +50 points
    3. Live Mathletics: 1 correct answer = 1 point and +2 points in the bonus level
    4. M Coins: 1 point = 1 M Coin

Certificates

Students earn a personalised Mathletics certificate when they achieve 1000 points in a week. The certificate displays their current avatar.  Students work through 8 levels of certificates, achieving 5 certificates at each level.

Click on My Awards to view all achieved certificates and view the different levels of certificates.

Avatar

Every point that a student earns is converted into an M Coin, spendable in the Avatar Store. While Mathletics points are reset each week, M Coins accumulate until students spend them on their avatars. With the avatar appearing on the certificate, students are motivated to keep updating them.

To access the avatar store, students click on their avatar on their Student Centre.

With thousands of different options of facial features, clothing, accessories and backgrounds, students can create infinite avatar versions, choosing to create their unique look or to create fun characters. Time spent updating your avatar is capped at 10 minutes each day to ensure that students return to Mathletics and earn more points.

The Mathletics Points Interactive Widget

Each week the Mathletics Points Interactive Widget changes its theme. Each time a student earns 100 points, a new element appears on the widget. When they achieve 1000 points, the widget will perform a fun action and the student will collect a gem which is presented on their certificate.

Personalising the Student Console

Mathletics encourages students to take ownership of the look and feel of their Mathletics student console. In addition to creating their avatar, they can select from a diverse range of backgrounds.

To select or update a background, students need to click on the background tab.

Meritopia

Meritopia is a unique and engaging reward game within Mathletics. It’s designed to reward students in a fun way for their effort and achievements in Mathletics while motivating them to go back into Mathletics to earn more points and Merits from completing Quests.

Students need to earn 200 points to get the 1st of their weekly accesses to Meritopia. Each access lasts 5 minutes, providing a short ‘brain break’ and then encouraging students to return and earn more points for further timed access to continue exploring Meritopia.

Students gain 5-minute access after earning 200, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 points. They can choose to accumulate their access times within one week. For example, if they work until they have achieved 1500 points, they can spend 20 minutes in Meritopia.

As students begin their Meritopia adventure, they have 3 different worlds to explore and collect items in the multi-levelled mining game. From there, they can move on to further explore and collect the 60 different Titans. The titans need feeding, using the items students have collected in the mining game or purchased in the store.

The Meritopia store uses coins that are collected in the mines and earned when a student completes a level in a Quest or completes a Quest.
