Mathletics offers the Fill Learning Gaps function, enabling teachers to assign assessments to students. After completing the assessment, teachers can view the results and promptly use the Fill Learning Gap function tab to assign Quests, addressing the specific questions students struggled with. This efficient process saves teachers time by allowing immediate follow-up with targeted work, ensuring the prompt addressing of student weaknesses, and tracking progress.

To use the Fill Learning Gaps function, firstly a teacher must assign an assessment and have their students complete the assessment.

Assign an assessment

1. Log into your Mathletics Teacher Console.
2. Select Assess > Schedule, then choose your class or group.
3. Filter by curriculum/standards, grade or search by assessment title.
4. Select View to preview the questions before you assign.
5. Select Assign, choose your students, and set start and end dates. You can also set a time limit if you want one.
6. Optional: select Preview > Questions to customize which questions are included, or shuffle the order they appear in.

Review results and fill learning gaps

1. Log into your Mathletics Teacher Console
2. Select Assess > Results to see completed assessments and average scores.
3. Choose Results by student or Results by question to drill into the detail.
4. Select View beside a student for a question-by-question breakdown.
5. Use Fill Learning Gaps to see recommended Skill Quests for the class or individual students, then assign them directly.

For assessment performance over time, go to Reports > Assessment Report.

The Fill Learning Gaps makes using the Mathletics Assessments a powerful tool for identifying strengths and weaknesses across your class, and then quickly and easily assigning Quests which will ensure that students practise and master the skills they need to learn to progress.
